--Precedent Companies, Clients to Benefit
from eGIX IP Communications--
Carmel, Ind., November 23, 2004 – Steve Johns , president and
CEO of Carmel-based eGIX Inc., today announced that eGIX
has acquired Indiana-based ECN (Enhanced Communications
Network, LLC), further strengthening eGIX’s base of business
customers in the Indianapolis area.
Headquartered in Indianapolis, ECN formerly
provided telephony services and products for the tenants
and of The Precedent Companies as well as other organizations
in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The acquisition of
ECN means eGIX will now provide IP (Internet Protocol) communications
including Voice over IP (VoIP) communications and high-speed
Internet access, as well as traditional long distance and
local line services to The Precedent business community.
ECN was operated by the Precedent Companies
since 1987 to ensure high levels of service to tenants.
The well-established company pre-dates the commercial Internet.
In selling ECN to eGIX, The Precedent Companies are assured
not only a continuity of service levels, but a greatly enhanced
line of communication products and services.
“We believe that we’re an excellent fit for
The Precedent’s tenants, as eGIX specializes in customizing
and converging technologies to meet the needs of specifically
small to medium-sized businesses,” said Johns.
“This acquisition gives ECN’s clients the
opportunity to access a superior, all encompassing portfolio
of communications services specifically designed to meet
their needs,” added Randy Aikman, president of The Precedent
Companies. “We realize the importance of providing this
type of cutting-edge technology to our client base, so we’re
very excited to have identified a local business partner
such as eGIX who can provide just that.”
Aikman added that The Precedent, a regionally
known and prestigious office complex, goes out of its way
to provide special benefits to tenants, and the unique communication
services that eGIX will deliver is an extension of this
commitment.
As part of eGIX’s offering, the company will
provide new Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services
to businesses in the complex. “VoIP is the future of communications,”
said Andy Gorogiani , executive vice president of sales
for eGIX. “Our eVOLVE IP communications services will provide
significant productivity gains and world-class communication
solutions for the Precedent business community.”
This transaction will not affect customers’
current services, existing rates, product features, or terms
of service. All ECN customers will continue to receive top
quality services with performance meeting or exceeding that
of the services they currently utilize.
