Broadband Blackout Hits Indy
Carmel, IN, December 3, 2002-Q media, a local Internet service provider (ISP), has had various vendors turn off their services which has left most Q media broadband business customers and dialup users without Internet access. In addition to this service interruption, Q media broadband business customers and dialup users are also unable to reach support at Q media to resolve the issue.
This shut down currently affects nearly 100 Indianapolis-area businesses including not-for-profits such as the Julian Center, as well as numerous other businesses including healthcare, mortgage and automobile companies. The number of affected dialup users is unknown.
In an effort to restore service to its broadband business customers, Q media contacted Carmel-based eGIX Inc. to transition as many of the affected customers as possible to the eGIX network. eGIX is now in the process of contacting each organization and is committed to getting their service restored as soon as possible.
Any affected Q media broadband business customers who have not yet received a call from an eGIX representative are urged to contact Bob Gallup, eGIX’s Executive VP of Sales & Marketing, directly at (317) 290-5500.
End users of Q media’s dialup service are encouraged to call eGIX directly toll free at 1-866-FOR-EGIX (367-3449). An eGIX sales professional will be able to offer alternative dialup services and price plans.
